SickSingAlong 3 by 3

SickSingAlong 3 by 3 is a section where we feature 3  albums by 3  bands/artistes in one post, together with a simplified review and sample track. The best part is that each 3 by 3 will be based on different categories!

So we’ll kick off this 3 by 3 with 3 debut albums released earlier this year by 3 uprising bands.

Two Door Cinema Club – Tourist History

This trio from Bangor, UK  started making their mark in the scene after the release of their EP, Four Words To Stand On which definitely captured the ears of music lovers and critics.  After gaining a well accepted recognition, a year and two months later (March 2010), the band released their debut album, Tourist History. It’s an album that won’t make you sit still for its upbeat and catchy electronic pop/rock sound!

More of their catchy tunes that would definitely make moooooove!

Surfer Blood – Astro Coast

I remembered a point in my life, where each and every new band wanted to do synth pop that I got so sick and tired of the sound to the extend that I almost given up on new bands. However that all changed after I listened to Surfer Blood’s Astro Coast. I felt that my ears were rescued! Okay that’s a bit too dramatic, but this album is the type of rock album that we all should be listening to; Noticeably incredible guitar playing, bass, drums with hints of surf rock influence. The first two tracks are enough to get you hooked on to the whole album.

Delphic – Acolyte

Dance, dance, dance, that’s what Acolyte is all about; it’s a dreamy dance album. Somehow listening to this album which is filled with exaggerated synth and and electronic beats reminds me of the European dancefloor (never actually been there, but it’s a point of view from how they are portrayed on TV and movies of course). Personally I would say that the album starts off pretty boring, only after the third track that the album picks up and become even dreamier.
