The Stoned Revivals at Laundrys
So last thursday (30/7) i went to laundry bar to watch which i think is one of the most awesome local band around, the stoned revivals, perform. my intention was just to watch them, but i was in for an extra treat from another amazing band, auburn.
to be honest ive never really bothered about auburn before cause i wasn’t exposed to their music. no recommendation by people around me.but after watching them perform live, i felt like knocking my head; like where have i been for not realizing their existence?? they were amazing. they totally rocked the house with their impressive alternative+dreamy rock tunes. i was so impressed by them and i love the vocalists’ unique vocals. i wished i knew them earlier, so that i cud be drowned in their music and catch more of their shows. now i want their album. here’s a pic of their performance.

the stoned revivals. aaah they are insanely amazing on stage, the energy they have when they’re performing is just so powerful and alive that makes you drift away to this underground basement where its only you and them and their music. what i enjoyed about their show was that each guy has their own stage command, each of the guys stood out in their own way, showacasing what they do best, and when combined, it turns into this mind blowing groovy funk rock awesomeness.

one of the my favorite moments was when jeffny did his solo. watching him play live his saxophone live gives me the rush! that dude is miraculously, out of the world amazing. he plays his sax like he’s been playing it since the day he was born. he indeed is, the sax god.

i must say i was also impressed by the phenomenal drum bangings by alang. ive seen him perform with another band, but with the stoned revivals, i find his skills are alot more extraordinary. esam was incredible as usual, strumming groovy riffs while projecting cool vocals for the band. and of course, haekal’s brilliant skills with the bass adds up to the bands’ stunning performance for the night!

p/s: thanks to nurvia for the photos!
So i went to catch menara kl indie fest part II two saturday. i must say, the entire gig was pretty awesome. i was really lucky that i arrived just in time for Komplot. man, they totally brought the whole disco punk to life! i am a big of their music and that was the first time i watched them perform live, i must admit, they really exceeded my expectation! i love how their sound was similar as to listening to their ep! the saxophone bit was amazing!words cant describe how spectacular they were. they totally rocked the night that it felt like being in another universe! okay, that was too much..but yeah, they were awesome and i would totally go to more of their gigs! i dont have photos or videos of them during their gig, but i’ll just leave you guys with some of their stuff from their EP, Disko Tanpa Risiko.
